Sources and Corrections

Check the evidence

Our articles should make it easy to identify the source, the relevant UK nation and the status of the information.

Sources we prioritise

For rules and official processes, we prefer legislation and the government, regulator or public body responsible. Typical sources include GOV.UK and HMRC, the Health and Safety Executive, GOV.WALES and Rent Smart Wales, gov.scot, mygov.scot and the Scottish Housing Regulator, and nidirect or Northern Ireland departments.

For market reporting, we look for the underlying dataset, methodology and publication date. Industry bodies, agents and campaign groups can provide useful evidence or opinion, but their interest should be clear and their claims should not be treated as official fact.

How to read a source note

  • Open the link and check that it supports the claim, not merely the general subject.
  • Check the publication and update date; housing guidance can change quickly.
  • Look for the nation and property type covered.
  • Distinguish legislation in force from a bill, consultation, target or proposal.
  • For an important decision, check the current official page again and obtain advice appropriate to the facts.

Report an error

Email us@latitude60.net and include:

  1. the full Here4Landlords page URL;
  2. the exact sentence or claim you believe is wrong;
  3. the correction you propose; and
  4. a reliable link or document supporting it.

We will assess the evidence, correct a confirmed material error and update the page where appropriate. We cannot promise to adopt a preferred interpretation or remove accurate reporting merely because it is unwelcome.

Request an update or clarification

If a page was correct when published but has been overtaken by new guidance, send the newer official source. Where an update materially changes the practical message, we may add a dated note or replace outdated wording.
